Colleen A. Durr, 95, of Le Mars, died Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at her home.

Colleen A. Durr was born April 12, 1923 in Le Mars to Everett and Opal (Calhoun) Simon. She married Orville Durr Sr. on Oct. 22, 1940, in Le Mars where the couple made their home.

Colleen enjoyed music and quilting. She even made one for all of her grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Orville (Charlene) Durr, Terry Durr, Rodney (Beth) Durr, Linda (special friend, John) Durr, and Patty (Leonard) Plueger, all of Le Mars; 18 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Colleen was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, Dick Simon; grandsons, Brett Olson and Randy Stabe; a great-granddaughter, Amanda Hughes; a daughter-in-law, Mabel ‘Hank’ Durr; and a son-in-law, Bill Stabe.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at the Mauer – Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. Chaplain Marie Lykken will officiate. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Le Mars. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m, Tuesday at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. The family will be present from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the funeral service on Wednesday.
