Death Claims Child
Three-Year-Old son of Mr. and Mrs. John Waldschmidt Succumbs

Michael, the three-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. John Waldschmidt, residing south of Remsen, died early last Saturday morning after a three weeks' illness. The little fellow, while playing on October 30, swallowed a kernel of corn, which lodged in his bronchial tube. The little fellow was taken to town at once and his condition was seen to be serious. He was rushed to a hospital in LeMars, where specialists from that city and from Sioux City, who were called into consultation, declared that it was impossible to extract the obstruction, which became more firmly lodged in the region of the left lung as time went on. Realizing that the little treasure was in great danger and that help was almost beyond reach, the parents sorrowfully returned home to await the inevitable, and Michael passed away Saturday after three weeks of suffering.

He leaves to mourn, besides his parents, three brothers, and three sisters. The funeral was held Monday morning, - with services in St. Mary's Catholic church, and interment was made in St. Mary's cemetery.
