Mrs. Jennie Becker
Funeral services for Mrs. Jennie Becker, 79, of rural Ireton, who died Monday (July 28. 1975) at her home will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran church, rural Ireton. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill cemetery, Ireton. Pastor Larry Miller will officiate. Friends may call Wednesday at the Dow funeral home at Ireton.
Jennie Nicholson was born Jan. 11, 1896, a daughter of William Nicholson and Mary Moran Nicholson. Her marriage to Louis E. Becker took place Nov. 4, 1914. and the couple lived on the pioneer Becker farm in rural Ireton. Mr. Becker died April 16. 1934, and Mrs. Becker continued to live on the farm for 61 years. She was a charter, 50-year member of the rural Ireton St. John's Ladies Aid. Mrs. Becker was an active member of the church which July 20 observed its centennial.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter, Ronald and William Becker, both of Ireton, and Mrs. Harold (Gladys) Vlieger of Maurice; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Nell Rosburg. Mrs. Mabel Mueller and Mrs. Edith McDougall, all of Le Mars. Mrs. Molly Keough, Davenport, and Evelyn Nicholson, Washington. D. C, and three brothers. W. F. Nicholson, Craig; Richard Nicholson. Sioux City, and Donald Nicholson, Struble. She was preceded in death by her husband Louis; two sons, Ralph and Wallace; one brother. Ben Nicholson and one sister, Dorothy Bertraum.
