Harold E. Shear

CHEROKEE, Iowa—Harold E. Shear, 46, of Cherokee died Oct. 1, 1993, at a Sioux City hospital.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, rural Merrill. Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home of Le Mars is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Shear was born Aug. 15, 1947, in Miller, S.D., the son of Randall and Harriette (Smith) Shear. He married Marilyn Scholes.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Harold Shear Jr. and Jeff Shear, both of Sioux City; his mother, Harriette Shear of Cleghorn; two brothers, Howard and his wife, Deb Shear of Cherokee and Henry and his wife, Pat Shear of Columbia, S.C.; five sisters, Judy and her husband, Rich Vanden Berg of South Sioux City, Joyce Shear of Lincoln, Neb., Janice and her husband, Dennis Rider of Sioux City, Jeanne and her husband, Vince Morrow of Le Mars and Julie and her husband, Reed Marshall of Cleghorn; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.
