Joplin, Mo. – Robert W. Peck, 71, of Joplin, Mo., formerly of Sioux City, died at his residence Friday, Feb. 19, 1999, following a lengthy illness.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Glad Tidings Lighthouse Church, South Sioux City, with the Rev. Michael Ring officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Akron, Iowa. Visitation will be from 2 to 8:30 p.m. today with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service at Berkemier Funeral Home, of Sioux City, with the family present from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
He was born Sept. 1, 1927, at Westfield, Iowa to Bert and Lillian (Butler) Peck. He was raised in Westfield and attended Westfield schools. He married Joyce C. Molzen, May 1, 1948, at Dakota City, Neb. They lived in Sioux City until 1974, when they moved to Westfield. They returned to Sioux City in 1981.
He was employed by the City of Sioux City for 13 years, and operated B & F Used Cars and Car City until he retired and moved to Joplin, in 1997.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, David of Hulbert, Okla., and Timothy of Joplin, Mo.; two daughters and their husbands, Sherry and Randy Reed, Pocatello, Idaho, and Amy and Rodney Solomon of Westfield; five sisters, Bernice Hansen of Rapid City, S.D., Cleo Johnson, Mary Lou Rich and Marilyn Peck, both of Sioux City, Marlys Brewer, South Sioux City; a brother, Bernard Peck of Hawarden, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and four brothers.
Pallbearers will be Jason Solomon, Shawn Reed, Eugene and Glen Brewer, Travis Reed and Jon Peck.
