LE MARS, Iowa - Edith Rose McDougall, 94, of Le Mars died Thursday, April 1, 1999, at her residence.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church of Le Mars with burial will be in Memorial Cemetery, Le Mars. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home.

Mrs. McDougall was born Aug. 6, 1904, in Elgin Township, Plymouth County to William and Mary Nicholson of Stuble, Iowa. She was educated in the Struble and Le Mars schools. She married Chester N. McDougall in 1922. They farmed near Struble for several years. They moved in 1938 to a farm north of Le Mars until their retirement in 1960 when they moved into town.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Le Mars, and enjoyed playing bridge.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Janice and David Petry of Hudson, Iowa and Edythe and Gene Swanson of Mankata, Minn; seven sons and their wives, James and Yvonne of Minnetonka, Minn, William and Dee, Douglas and Vonice, Mark and Jeanie all of Le Mars, Richard and Patricia of Okoboji, Iowa, Nick and Donna of Ft. Collins, Colo., Dennis and Lynne of Kansas City, Mo; a son-in-law, Eugene Scholer of Le Mars; a sister-in-law, Ida Nicholson of Omaha, Neb.; 40 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester; a daughter, Mabel; a daughter-in-law, Erlene; four brothers; six sisters; a granddaughter; and two great-grandsons.

Pallbearers will be several of her grandsons.

A memorial has been established with Hospice.
