Elmer J. Dimmick

AKRON, Iowa - Elmer J. Dimmick, 95, of Akron died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000, at Akron Care Center.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Akron, with the Rev. William Flemr officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6:30 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron.

Mr. Dimmick was born Dec. 23, 1904, in Decatur, Neb., the son of Curtis and Martha (Holland) Dimmick.

He married Lorraine Ida Dorothy Fredrickson on Oct. 5, 1932, in Elk Point, S.D. She died Jan. 24, 1985.

He lived and farmed in Union County, S.D., most of his life. He entered Akron Care Center in 1993.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mardeen Lanning of Vermillion, S.D.; two sons and their wives, Dellis and Patsy of rural Elk Point and Delvin and Beverly of North Platte, Neb.; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters and a grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Mike Crow, Terry and Alan Lanning, Karl Bieber, James Frankl and Lynn Johnson.
