AKRON, Iowa - Dennis Vreugdenhil, 62, of Akron, formerly of Sioux City, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000, at Akron Care Center.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron, with the Rev. Richard Luttmann officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mr. Vreugdenhil was born June 10, 1937, in Union County, S.D., the son of William and Anna (Langdon) Vreugdenhil. He was raised on the family farm. He moved to Sioux City in 1966. He entered Akron Care Center in 1990.

Survivors include a brother and his wife, Robert and Sally of Alcester, S.D.; two sisters and their husbands, Joyce and Kenneth Clark of Sioux City and MaryAnn and Eldon Earlley of Wilsonville, Neb.; and a sister-in-law, Myra Vreugdenhil of Akron.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Max and Gene; and a sister, Hope.

Pallbearers will be Brad, Eddie and Chuck Vreugdenhil, Butch Clark, Don Oetken and Sherry Bruneau.
