Frank J. Holzman
Frank J. Holzman, 81, of Le Mars, died Saturday (Sept. 22, 1984) at his home after suffering an apparent heart attack.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Rev. Francis Staber will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Tuesday and the rosary will be recited by the parish at 8 p.m. and the by the Knights of Columbus at 8:30 p.m. in the Luedtke-Feuerstein Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Mr. Holzman was born Dec. 10, 1902, in Le Mars and was a lifelong Plymouth County resident. He farmed in Stanton Township until 1957 when he moved to Le Mars. He married Josephine Kemp Jan. 23, 1924, at Le Mars.
He was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish, the Knights of Columbus Trinity Council 1466, Holy Name Society and Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Survivors are his wife; five daughters, Mrs. Irvin (Marian) Gotto and Mrs. Leonard (Joanne) Anthony, both of Le Mars; Mrs. William (Elaine) Pew of San Marcos, Calif.; Edna Holzman of Omaha; and Mrs. Rogeer (Betty) Curry of Saratoga, Calif.; six sons; Gordon of Alton; Clayton, Stanley, and Leon, all of Le Mars Roger of Houston, Texas; and Marvin of La Habra, Calif.; one sister Mrs. Leo (Ann) Dreckman of Le Mars; 34 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson; and 3 sisters, Mrs. Barbara Deters, Catherine Holzman and Magdalen Dreckman.
