Obituary

Russell R. Brown

Russell R. Brown, 65, Sioux City, died Friday morning, Nov. 22,, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.

Private funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the chapel in Graceland Park Cemetery.

Mr. Brown was born Feb. 22, 1903, near Merrill. He moved to Sioux City in 1919, and married Florence Feenan in Council Bluffs Oct. 24, 1930.

He was employed for 37 years at Swift and Co. Packing Plant until 1962, when he retired as assistant manager. Mr. Brown was a member of First Church of Christ Scientist, Tyrian Lodge 508, AF & AM, Sioux City Consistory, Abu-Bekr Temple and the High 12 Club.

Survivors are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Marilyn) Tyler and Mr. Jay (Connie) McDole, both of Sioux City; a son, James of Sioux City; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Johnson of Sinton, Tex., and Mrs. Esther Brown of Boulder, Colo.; a brother, Reuel of Culver City, Calif., and eight grandchildren.
