Mary R. Harnois
Mary Rose Harnois, 87, of Vermillion died Monday, June 5, 1995, at the South East Dakota Nursing Home in Vermillion.
Services were held Wednesday, June 7, 1995, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Vermillion with the Rev. Leonard Fox officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery under direction of Hansen Funeral Home in Vermillion.
Pallbearers were Rick, Jody, John and Tom Harnois, Larry Mart and Gary Ashore.
Mrs. Harnois, the former Mary Weidenfeller, was born August 25, 1907, in Akron, Iowa. She married Hector Harnois August 12, 1935. The couple made their home in Vermillion where they owned and operated Heck’s Service from 1939 to 1972.
Mrs. Harnois was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters of America. She was a charter member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed music, dancing, playing piano, cards and Bingo.
Survivors include a son, and his wife, Maryln of Vermillion; a daughter, Mrs. (Judy) Nedved of Wagner, seven grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; four sisters, two brothers, and one granddaughter.
