Clara Mae Weidenfeller

Clara Mae Weidenfeller, 91, of Akron, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1993, at the Akron Care Center.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 10 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Akron with Rev. William Flemr officiating. Soloist was Jon Harris who sang “Rock of Ages” and “The Old Rugged Cross,” accompanied by Carol Harris, organist. Burial was in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Akron, under the direction of Schroeder Funeral Home, Akron.

Pallbearers were James Siebens, Michael Sibens, Donald Kapfer, Randall Siebens, Alan Siebens, and John Harnois.

Mrs. Weidenfeller was born November 21, 1901, in Union County, S.D. the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Carlson) Kapfer. She received her education in a Union County country school and worked for the Telephone Company. She married Anthony Weidenfeller April 12, 1926, at Akron. The couple lived in Akron all their married life. He died in May 1979. She became a resident of the Care Center in May 1993.

Mrs. Weidenfeller was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Akron, Akron Senior Citizens, and Golden Age Club.

Survivors include a son, Leo of Omaha, Neb.; two daughters, Mrs. William “Buzz” (Marie) Henke of Akron and Mrs. Marvin (Dorothy) Siebens of Akron; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Oscar of Akron.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and one sister.
