Elizabeth “Bessie” Dolan, 75, of Beresford died June 25, 1982, in a Sioux Falls hospital.

Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Teresa’s Catholic Church in Beresford. The Rev. Thomas Ryan officiated. Burial was in the Emmett cemetery under the direction of the Wass Funeral Home, Beresford.

The former Elizabeth Buryanek, was born Jan. 3, 1907, in Westfield. She came to South Dakota at an early age and attended schools in the Vermillion area. After graduating from Vermillion High School, she attended Southern State Teachers College in Springfield. She taught school in the Beresford area for several years. She married Joseph Dolan June 1, 1929 in Vermillion. The couple farmed in the Emmet community. Mr. Dolan died in 1978 and she continued to live on the farm until her death.

Survivors include one son, William of Beresford; one daughter, Mrs. Howard (Rosamond) Lind of Vermillion and five grandchildren.
