William Mahaney
William L. Mahaney, 59, 2501 Villa Ave., Sioux City, died unexpectedly at his home Tuesday morning (Oct. 30, 1973).
Mr. Mahaney, a Sioux City resident most of his life, was born Jan. 27, 1914, in Plymouth County. He married Margaret Johnson April 1, 1948, at Sioux City. He was employed as a butcher by United Packing of Iowa. He was a veteran of World War 2 and was a member of the American Legion. He belonged to St. Boniface Catholic Church, Sioux City, with Rev. Oderic Akwick officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of the Larkin Funeral Home, Sioux City. Monahan post 64 of the American Legion will conduct military rites at the cemetery.
Pallbearers, all nephews, will be Randy Johnson, Joseph Mahaney Jr., Tom Mahaney, Dennis and David Burnham and George Barkley.
Rosary will be recited at the Larkin Northside Chapel at 7 p.m. Thursday.
Survivors are his wife; two brothers, Joseph and Vincent, both of Sioux City, and three sisters, Mrs. Thomas Murray of Sioux City; Mrs. Emmet Tracy of Jefferson and Sister James Vincent of Minneapolis.
