Our much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Lillian Kramer, 85, died at her home on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017.

Lillian Elsie Graff was born on Dec. 17, 1931 to John T. and Eva Schwarzwalter Graff in Jamestown, North Dakota. She graduated from Jamestown High School in 1949 and later earned her teaching degree from Westmar College in Le Mars. After teaching for one year, she married Charles T. Kramer on June 29, 1955 in Jamestown, North Dakota.

Lillian and Charles raised their family in Le Mars where Lillian was a loving stay-at-home mom, who occasionally substitute taught and in later years became a nurses’s aide.

In their retirement years, Lillian and Charles moved to Willard, Missouri. Lillian loved to gather with family and friends, never meeting a stranger. She was an active church member all her life. She enjoyed attending the Christian Women’s Club for many years.

Lillian also enjoyed baking kuchen and other family recipes passed through generations, doing jumble word puzzles, reading, and keeping in touch with loved ones through phone calls and her avid letter writing.

Lillian is greatly missed by her husband of 61 years, Charles, of Willard, Missouri; a son, Dean Kramer of Willard; a son, Robert (Sheila) Kramer and children David, Sarah, Daniel, and Michaela of Willard; a son, James (Dawn) Kramer and children Roxana, Rochelle, and Roslyn of Willard; a son, Richard (Agnieszka) Kramer and children Nick (Nickie), Michael, Ayron (Carlos), Michael (Annie), and Mark of Rogersville, Missouri, a daughter, Joan (Tom) Loew and children Jake and Jenna of Oelwein, and a daughter Marie (Dean) Plueger and children Arabella and Eliana of Suwanee, Georgia; six great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law Marjorie Kramer of Le Mars.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Ann; her daughter-in-law, Debra Kramer; her brother and sister-in-law, the Rev. David and Laura Graff; her sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Robert Crites; brothers Emil, Elmer, and Robert; and her brother-in-law and his wife, Forrest and Joyce Kramer.

Willard visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. today (Wednesday) at New Life Baptist Church In Willard with a service at 6 p.m. Le Mars visitation services will be Friday, April 21, from 5-7 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Le Mars. Funeral services will be held at the church, at 11 a.m., Saturday, with a luncheon to follow.
