Funeral Services For Mrs. Fred May Held In Le Mars Monday

Services were held Monday morning for Mrs. Fred May, who died at her home in Merrill July 9. She had been ill for about six months.

Ella Richardson May was born September 11, 1875, in Lafayette County, Wisconsin. She came to Kingsley community when she was 3 years old and remained until 1939 when she moved to Merrill. March 15, 1911, she was married to Fred May near Kingsley.

To this union were born three daughters and one son; Mrs. George Hoefling, Merrill; Mrs. Clifford Craig, Le Mars; Miss Ruth May, Glenwood, Iowa, and a son, Glenn, of Portland, Oregon. Five grandchildren survive. She is also survived by her husband.

Funeral services were held in St. John’s Lutheran Church in Merrill, with Rev. Elmer Jacobs officiating. Interment was in Le Mars City Cemetery.

Mauer’s Funeral Home of Le Mars was in charge of arrangements.
