Martin Larson, 89, A Former Resident, Laid to Rest Here
Martin Larson, 89, of 1911 Jones Street, Sioux City, a former grain company manager and farmer at Kingsley, died Saturday afternoon, April 22, at a Sioux City hospital after suffering a stroke March 11.
Funeral services for Mr. Larson wee held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, at the Heaton-Westcott Funeral Home in Sioux City, and burial was made in the Kingsley Cemetery.
Obituary
Martin Larson was born September 2, 1871 at Morris, Illinois. He married Annie Richardson of Kingsley in 1894. She died in 1931. He married Florence S. Hapgood June 3, 1933. Mr. Larson was a member of the National Association of Retired Railroad Employees and the Bancroft Golden Age Club.
In 1920 he was named foreman of the Grain Door bureau when it was organized and served in that position until his retirement in 1946. Before going to Sioux City he was manager of the Trans-Mississippi Grain C. here for fifteen years and also farmed in this area eleven years.
Survivors include the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Mabel Griepenburg of Remsen, and Mrs. Hazel Reynolds of Omaha; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
