OBITUARY
August Erickson, of Sioux Township, Plymouth County, Iowa, who died suddenly of heart trouble at Tekamah, Nebraska, on Monday, November 21, 1927, while returning from an auto trip to Dallas, Texas, was born in Union County, S. D., May 20, 1874, and attained the age of 53 years, 6 months, and 1 day. He resided in Union County until he was twenty-six years of age, and practically all the time since has lived on his farm in Plymouth County, Iowa, eight miles southeast of Westfield.
He was married in 1899 to Emma Booher, of Lebanon, S. D., who preceded him in death in 1912. On April 15, 1915, he was united in marriage with Miss Lizzie Schneiderheinze, by whom he is survived, along with him mother, Mrs. Lars J. Erickson, and one sister, Mrs. Selma Erickson, of Sioux City, Iowa.
Mr. Erickson was a man of exemplary character, an industrious and progressive farmer, a devoted husband, son and brother, and a good and helpful neighbor and friend—a man highly esteemed by the many who bore his acquaintance in this community, where he had spent all his lie. To the family so suddenly bereaved there is extended widespread sympathy.
Funeral services were held last Friday, at 11 a.m. at the Christy Chapel in Sioux City and at 2 p.m. in the Christian Church in Akron, conducted by Rev. J. E. Lombard, of Sioux City, and Rev. E. C. DAVIS, OF Akron. There was a very large attendance at the services, with fifty or sixty members of the Klan wearing their regalia, at the funeral and the burial services. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery.

Akron, IowaThis paper has been asked by relatives of the late August Erickson to correct the omission of the name of one of the ministers who officiated at the funeral here a week ago Saturday. Through an oversight Rev. Flemming was not mentioned as one of the ministers who spoke at the funeral services in th local Christian church. Rev. Davis, of this city, was the other speaker, and Rev. Lombard, of Sioux City, led in prayers.
