Mrs. Ed (Grace) Jans

Mrs. Ed (Grace) Jans, 95, Akron, died Sunday (March 8, 1981) at the Akron hospital of a brief illness.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Wesley United Methodist Church, The Rev. Peter Peterson officiated. Burial was in Riverside cemetery under direction of the Schroeder funeral home.

Pallbearers were Evert Falkena, Kenneth Falkena, Jerry Falkena, Terry Falkena, David Falkena, and Karl Jans.

Mrs. Jans, the former Grace Louise Adams, was born March 26, 1885, near Akron. She worked in restaurants in the Akron area for many years.

She married Esla Tone Oct. 25, 1905, in Elk Point, S. D. He died in 1928. She married Mr. Jans Dec. 18, 1930, in Akron. He died in 1971. She was a continuous 79-year member of the Wesley United Methodist church.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Alvin (Ruth) Wilson of Edgerton, Wis., and Fern Elaine Wright of La Habra, Calif.; two sons, Ransom Tone o Silvis, Ill., and Albert Tone f San Diego, Calif.; 20 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Harry Christy of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two sons, two daughters, three brothers and two sisters.
