Ben Nicholson, retired automobile dealer, is dead
Private funeral services for Benjamin Nicholson, 80. of 112 Seventh St SW were held at 9 am. Monday at the Mauer funeral chapel, Rev. Robert Floy officiated and burial was in l.e Mars Memorial cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home. The family and close friends attended services.
Dr. W. L. Downing was called to the Nicholson home about 10:30 Friday night and reported that Mr. Nicholson had shot himself in he head with a .32 revolver in an upstairs bedroom.
Luken's ambulance was called and he died of the head wound at he Sacred Heart hospital about midnight, Mr. Nicholson had-been ill for several years.
Mr. Nicholson was born March 25. 1884, in Plymouth county near LeMars. He was a lifelong resident of LeMars and vicinity. He was a retired automobile dealer, having established Nicholson Motor Co. here. He was the first dealer in the United Stale.s to hold the franchise for sale of the Chevrolet. His parents were the late James B. Nicholson Sr. and Georgina Laing.

Survivors are bis widow, Freda Nicholson of Le Mars; a daughter; Mrs. Ellen Bell of Anchorage, Alaska; five sisters, Mrs. Elsie Koenig, LeMars; Mrs. Jean Dula, Mrs. Georgina Shuenk, Mrs. Felix (Madge) Berner, all of Los Angeles, and Mrs. Ruth Burg of Minneapolis,
He was preceded in dead by his son, Glenn; a brother, James B Nicholson Jr., and his first wife Mildred, who died in 1949.
Paul bearers were Dale Johnson, Fred Wiedesch, Wade Wooke, Don Wernely, Rome Kevaleske and Leroy Walter.
