Donald Varenhorst

Donald Varenhorst, 75, of Le Mars, died Saturday (Dec. 31, 1983) at his home of an apparent heart attack.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. Rev. William Striepe, pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Le Mars, will officiate. Burial will be in Le Mars Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Varenhorst was born Aug. 21, 1908, in Le Mars to Henry and Lydia Varenhorst. He farmed in the Brunsville area and later worked for Moore Lumber Co. for many years before retiring.

He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member of the American Legion.

Several cousins survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents
