FRANK VARENHORST SR. RITES SET FRIDAY

Funeral services for Frank Benjamin Varenhorst, 83, of 521 Third Ave. SW, will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Mauer funeral home in Le Mars. Rev. Harold Varce will officiate. Burial will be in Le Mars Memorial cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Donald Varenhorst, Wesley Kuehn, John Hodgson, Art Kilker and Earl Gordon.

Mr. Varenhorst was found dead under his car in the garage at his home early Tuesday evening. Dr. Sherman Lindell, Plymouth county medical examiner, said death was accidental and was due to carbon monoxide poisoning. Mr. Varenhorst had been taking chains off his car.

He was born Dec. 24, 1883, in Greenview, Ill. After farming for many years, he retired to Le Mars and has resided here for 44 years. He was a lifetime resident of Plymouth county. His marriage to Lydia Michael took place Nov. 28, 1912, in Sioux City. She preceded him in death in 1960.

Survivors are three sons, Benedict of Ottumwa, Frank of Le Mars, and LaVern of Storm Lake; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four brothers, Rudolph and Albert of Mitchell, S. D., John of Sturgis, S.D., and Fred of Hillboro, Ore.; and two sisters, Mrs. Carl Klose, Mitchell, and Mrs. Robert Oakes, Winner, S. D.

He was preceded in death by his wife, a daughter, four brothers and a sister.
