Note: His father has his first name listed as David in his obituary. His mother's maiden name is Hein or Heine.

Juliius Christensen

Julius Christensen departed this life at the Veterans Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, last Friday, August 18, 1977, following a brief illness. He was 81 years of age.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Schroeder Funeral home with the Rev. David J. Roy officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery with graveside military rites by Hoschler American Legion post of Akron.

Pallbearers were John Clarey, Clarence Staum, Art Staum, Ray Yoerger, Carl Hitzemann, Darrell Boetger.

Julius Christensen was born in Union County, South Dakota, February 14, 1896. His parents were Detloff and Anna Christensen.

During most of his life he farmed in Union and Plymouth counties in the communities of Elk Point and Akron. Also he worked for other farmers, who needed his help.

During World War 1, he served his country in the United States Army.

Julius was a friendly person who might be described as easy-going. He was most willing to help others wherever and whenever he could.

He retired in 1969 and in 1972 he became a member of the family at the Elk Point Nursing Home.

He was preceded in death by: his five brothers, Henry, Frank, Louis, John, and George, and by his three sisters, Josephine Heyl, Sophie Heyl, and Laura Heyl. Among those who survive his departure are his nieces and his nephews.
