GUSTAVE A. NEWBERG
Gustave A. Newberg, 97, New Horizons Care Center, Sioux City, died Monday, June 7, 1982, at the care center.
Services were at 11 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist church in Hinton. Rev. Dale Stone officiated. Burial was in Memorial Park cemetery, Sioux City. There was a prayer service at the Meyer Brothers Colonial chapel at Sioux City. Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel at Sioux City.
Mr. Newberg was born July 17, 1884, in Tiedholm, Sweden. He came to the United States at age 13. He married Edith M. Law, Sept. 9, 1914. He was a barber in Lawton from 1902 until 1932.
In 1933 the couple moved to Hinton and farmed until retiring in 1941. They came to Sioux City in 1943. Mrs. Newberg died April 9, 1969.
He was a member of the United Methodist church and Farm Bureau.
Survivors are two sons, Virgil and Bedford, both of Hinton; one daughter, Mrs. Loretta Epling of Hinton; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
