J. P. Wies died at his home in Remsen last Friday, aged fourty-five years. Diabetes was his malady. He was in ill health for some time and in September went to Luxemburg Europe to visit his old home. Friends tried to get him to stop on the way for a rest and gain strength, but he came on. He got home Thursday at ten and died Friday at ten. He is said to have left $50,000 made in the saloon business and also left a large amount of life insurance.
