DIED. Joseph Granger, June 20, 1876, aged 61 years, 3 months and 20 days.
The deceased left his home in Ohio, about two months ago and came here on a two fold mission—to visit his children, and recruit his health, and while he found the former in good health, and doing well, he was disappointed in not deriving some benefit from the change of climate, but the disease had too good a hold upon his aged body, and he soon sank to rest upon the bosom of his Saviour. He left his wife in Ohio, who was too feeble to come and attend him in his sickness. He died away from his native home, but kindly hands laid him in his last resting place, from whence he will be called, we trust, to join an unbroken family band in the home of his God.
Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Granger take this means of returning their many thanks to the friends for kindly assisting at the funeral of their father and for lending helping hands during his illness. - The Iowa Liberal, Wednesday, July 5, 1876, page 1, columns 1 and 4
