Vincent Roeser, 92, of Le Mars passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 4, 2016, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, E.L.C.A. with Reverend Dr. Jean Ziettlow officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Le Mars. Visitation with the family present will be after 5:00 p.m. Sunday, January 3, 2016 at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars with a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service. Visitation will continue Monday morning at the church from 9:30 a.m. until service time.
Pallbearers will be Brent Hartman, Chris Anderson, Kyle Anderson, Dennis Britt, Randy Britt, and Denny Harms.
Vincent John Roeser was born July 8, 1923 in Ponca, Nebraska to Michael and Mary (Weber) Roeser. He attended country school near Ponca in District 13 and later graduated from Ponca High School in May of 1940. In 1944, the family moved to a farm near Le Mars, Iowa. Vince farmed with his father and worked as a carpenter for Fred Harms. After Fred retired, Vince continued to work with Fred’s sons, Lanny and Denny. He retired from farming and carpentry in 1980. Vince was united in marriage to Joyce Anderson on June 8, 1970 at Elk Point, South Dakota. Vince and Joyce enjoyed 45 years of marriage.
Vince enjoyed reading, playing cards, and attending stock car races. He and Joyce also enjoyed going “antiquing” together.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Joyce Roeser of Le Mars; 4 sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Hartman, Diane Anderson, Donna Vander Well and her husband Dan and Debbie Kellerson and her husband Paul all of Le Mars; a brother-in-law, Dennis Anderson of Le Mars; and several special nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Mary (Weber) Roeser; a brother, Lawrence (Jean) Roeser; a sister, Marie (Bud) Britt; and his parents-in-law, Andy and Babe Anderson.
