Final Rites Are Held On November 10 For John F. Haage
John F. Haage, a life-long and esteemed resident of northwest Plymouth county, departed this life Monday evening, November 7, at the Akron Hospital, after about a year's illness, aged 72 years, 9 months and 19 days.
John Frederick Haage was born January 9, 1894, east of Akron, where he grew to manhood. On February 14, 1917, he was united in marriage with Sena Cassens and began homemaking on a farm near here. He was active in Farm Bureau affairs over a long period.
He was a member of St. John Lutheran church, Preston township and of the church brotherhood. .His many fine personal qualities gained for him a host of friends, who extend: sympathy to the bereaved relatives.
Survivors include the widow; five sons, Elmer, of Hawarden, Ia., Arnold, of Glassford., and William, Harvey and Norman, all of LeMars; two brothers, Gert, of Akron, and Herman, of Brunsville, la.; foursisters, Mrs. Anna Meyer, Mrs. Flora Cassens and Mrs. Henry Borchers all of Akron, and Mrs. Christina Lubben of LeMars, and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held November 10 at St. Johns Lutheran church, Preston township, Rev. James Sandvick officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
