Mrs. Wetrosky Dies at Age 84

Mrs. Bertha Wetrosky, 84, of 215 3rd Ave. NW died Thursday at Sacred Heart hospital after several years of illness. She had been hospitalized six days.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. John American Lutheran church. Rev. L. L. Belk and Rev. Robert Floy will officiate. Burial will be in the city cemetery under direction of Mauer's funeral home.

Bertha Pauline Wetrosky was born Jan. 14, 1878, at Sioux City, the daughter of Rudolph and Pauline Kallenbach Schulz. Her marriage to Frank Wetrosky Sr. took place Feb. 11, 1896, at the home in Stanton township of her parents. The couple farmed five years in Hungerford township and for 50 years in Liberty township, retiring to LeMars in 1951. Mr. and Mrs. Wetrosky observed their 60th wedding anniversary in 1956. He died in 1957.

Surviving are five sons and two daughters, Arthur of Akron, Elmer of Alcester, S. D., Walter and Mrs. Frank (Ella) Utesch, both of Merrill, Gus of LeMars, Frank of Cherokee and Mrs. Myron (Evelyn) Taylor of Sioux City; 17 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, and a brother, William Schulz of Wakefield, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers and two sisters
