Heart Disease Claims Early Northwest SettlerDuncan Robertson, well know resident of this city, passed away at his home, 201 3rd Ave. S. W., on Tuesday, October. Death was due to heart disease.
Duncan Robertson was born May 4, 1861, at Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, and was 75 year, 5 months and 2 days of age at the time of his death. He came to the United Sates when a boy eight years old and settled at Sioux City, Iowa, where they lived three years and then moved with his parents to a farm in Washington township where they lived until five years ago when he moved to Le Mars.
On April 17, 1887, he was united in marriage to Henrietta Ross at Le Mars. To this union were born four daughters and two sons. One daughter, Mrs. Kate Solomon, Pittsburg, passed away about a year ago.
Survivors include his widow three daughters, Mrs. Bessie Locer of St. Lawrence, S. Dak; Mrs. Anna Burgard of Le Mars; Mrs. Margaret Dennler, of Le Mars; two sons, John, of Akron, Iowa, and Neil, of St. Lawrence, S. Dak. Two brother also survive, Neil, sr., of James, Iowa, and Angus of Wessington, S. Dak. There are also 14 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p. m. at home and at 2:30 o’clock from the Plymouth church, with Rev. W. E. Smith officiating at the services. Interment will be made in the Plymouth cemetery.
