Mrs. Ray Galles
Funeral services for Mrs. Ray (Rosa) Galles, 65, Le Mars, were held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic church, Lincoln township (Neptune church). Rev. Donald Slaven officiated and burial was in the church cemetery under direction of the Luedtke funeral home in Le Mars. The altar society rosary was recited Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home and the parish rosary at 8 p.m.
Mrs. Galles died Friday (July 3, 1981) at Plymouth Manor care center in Le Mars, two days after being transferred from the Floyd Valley hsopital. She had been ill with cancer for more than a year.
Rosa Bauler was born July 8, 1915, at rural Kingsley to Peter and Anna Trewieler Bauler. She had lived in the Kingsley and Le Mars areas all her life. She was a member of st. Joseph's altar society. Her marriage to Ray Galles took place Nov. 23, 1937, at Kingsley. He preceded her in death in November 1968.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson; two sisters, Ann and Mary, anf five brothers, Georeg, Herman, Mike, Henry and Sergie.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Arnold (Patricia) Harms, Le Mars; three sons, William and Thomas, both of Le Mars and Daniel of Dixon, Neb. There are 11 grandchildren. A brother, Francis Bauler of Kingsley, also survives.
