FORMER LOCAL RESIDENT DIES IN SIOUX CITY
Mrs. Agnes Braun, of Sioux City, a former resident of Akron vicinity, passed away Thursday, May 9, in a hospital there, aged 64 years, 8 months, and 25 days, after a brief illness.
Agnes Burke was born August 14, 1898, at Fort Yates, S. D. She resided in Akron with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Burke, before going to Sioux City about thirty years ago. Her husband, Charles, preceded her in death in may, 1954.
She was a member of the Cathedral of the Epiphany, Sioux City.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Fred Hanson of Kansas City, Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. Henrietta Hoschler, and Mrs. Claude W. Burris, both of Akron, Ia., and a brother, Stephen Burke of Dell Rapids, S. D.
Funeral services were held Monday morning at the Cathedral of the Epiphany, Rt. Rev. Msgr. W. E. Bauer officiating. Pallbearers were James Casey, Claude Burrris, Lowell Hoschler, Bernard Callahan, Albert Burns and Wayne Jones. Burial was in Akron St. Joseph Catholic cemetery.
Relatives from a distance in attendance at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hanson, of Kansas City, Mo., and Stepen Burke, of Dell Rapids, S. D.
