Mrs. Meta Gorath

Meta Gorath, 93, Howard, S. D., died May 6, 1984, at Howard. Services were held at Canova, S. D.

Attending from Le Mars were her brother, Albert Heeren, and Edna Boysen, Mr. and mrs. Norman Heeren, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ahrendt, Mrs. Harlan Heeren, Harry Heeren and Mrs. Clarence Plueger. Also Wallace Heeren, Kingsley, and Walter Klemme, Akron.

She was born Feb. 11, 1891, near Le Mars to Mr. and Mrs. William Heeren. She married William Gorath Dec. 18, 1908, in Le Mars. The family later moved to South Dakota. Her husband died at Canova in 1950.

Survivors are two sons, George of Canova and Alfred of Salem; three daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Margaret) Becker, Sioux Falls; Mrs. Frank (Jurina) HIntz, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Richard (Bernadine) Williams, Emery, S D.; 16 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild and a brother, Albert Heeren, Le Mars.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Johannah Webster, four brothers, three sisters, her parents and four infant sons.
