MRS. HEYL DIES AT THE AGE OF 78
Death Came This Morning After a Lingering Illness--Funeral Held Thursday
Mrs. Catherine Heyl died this morning at her home at 420 Fifth Avenue S. E., after a long illness. She was 78 years, 1 month and 25 days of age at the time of her death. The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the St. John's Lutheran church, Rev. J. J. Vollmar officiating.
Mrs. Heyl, nee Vieth, was born in Oldenburg, Germany, on January 29, 1846, and came to America, to Chicago, in 1864, where she found employment. Two years later she was united in marriage to George Heyl, in Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Heyl then moved to a farm near Dixon, Ill., later coming to Wall Lake, Ia., and still later they moved to Ida Grove, Ia. They left Iowa and went to Jackson, Neb., then later to Osmund, Neb., where they farmed, coming back to Iowa and Le Mars in 1895. Mr. Heyl died in 1910.
Deceased is survived by six sons and a daughter. Those who live to mourn her loss are: Henry, of Chatsworth, Ia.; Edward, of Laure, Neb.; George, of Akron, Ia.; Louis, of Le mars; Wyatt, of Akron, and Fred, of Afton, Ia., and Mrs. Caroline Bleisner, of Regina, SAskatchewan, Canada. Three daughters preceded her in death.
Twenty-three grandchildren and 15 great grand children also mourn her loss.
