ANDRESEN, ANDERSEN, BARTELS

ANDRESEN--At the home of his daughter, eight miles northwest of Akron, in Union county, S. D., Saturday, April 4, 1908, Christian Hans Andresen, aged 80 years, 4 months and 28 days.

Deceased was taken ill October 5, 1907, with heart trouble and paralysis. His wife died last October, since which time he has been cared for at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Carl Bruhn, northwest of town.

Christian Hans Andresen was born November 7, 1827, at Wesselburen, Holstein, Germany, and was united in marriage with Miss Anna Bartels on October 15, 1853.

To them were born fourteen children, five sons and nine daughters, of whom seven survive, as follows; John, near Beresford, S. D.; Christ., of Sioux Valley township, Union county, S. D.; Henry, east of Akron; Mrs. Henry Boetger and Mrs. Carl Bruhn, of Sioux Valley township; Mrs. Ed. Heyn, near Madison, S. D., and Mrs. Henry Schutte, near Carpenter, S. D. The family came to America in 1881, settling at Clinton, Iowa. They lived there three years, and in 1884 came to Sioux Valley township, Union county, S. D., eight miles northwest of Akron, which has since remained the family home. All through life deceased was an honorable, hard-working man and was held in highest respect by all who knew him.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Fred Meske in the Akron German Lutheran church Tuesday afternoon, Interment was made in Riverside Cemetery.
