Mrs. Lyle (Frances) Bohnenkamp, 61, Le Mars native and longtime remsen area resident, died July 6, 1983, at Marian Health Center, Sioux City, after a brief illness.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remssen. Rev. Le Roy Seuntjens will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery under direction of the Fisch Funeral Home in Remsen.

A combined Christian Mothers and Catholic Daughters of the Americas rosary will be at 3 p.m. and the parish rosary at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

The former Frances Freking was born April 6, 1922, in Le Mars to Casper and Anna Deters Freking. She was educated in Le Mars and graduated in 1939 from St. Joseph's High School. She earned her nursing degree at Mercy Hospital School of Nursing at Clinton and was employed as a registered nurse at Waverly and Sacred Heart Hospital in Le Mars.

Her marriage to Lyle Bohnenkamp took place Sept. 15, 1947, in Le Mars and the couple farmed in the Remsen area since.

Survivors are her husband, Lyle, Remsen; three sons, Gary of Remsen; Robert of Le Mars, and Steven at home; seven grandchildren; four brothers, Joseph, Remsen, and Ben, Greg, and Leo, all of Le Mars; and three sisters, Caroline Freking, Le Mars; Mrs. Leo (Mary) Haverkamp, Fort Dodge, and Mrs. Roy (Agnes) Walschmitt, Remsen.
