Mrs. Johanne Pech dead at age 95
Funeral services for Mrs. Johanne D. Pech, 95, of 201 First Ave. SE., will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Evangelical United Brethren church. Burial will be in Le Mars Memorial cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home. Rev. Harold Varce will officiate.
Johann Detels was born June 1, 1869, at Lauenburg (Elbe) Germany. She came to the United states and the Remsen vicinity in 1894. Soon afterward, she moved to Le Mars and the family moved to Le Mars in 1910. Her marriage to Ferdinand Pech took place Sept. 27, 1894, near Le Mars. Her parents were the late Johann Henrich Detels and Johanne Hagen.
Mrs. Pech made her home at Sacred Heart hospital the last 2 1/2 years. She died Monday, after a short illness. She was a member of the EUB church in Le Mars, the women's Bible class and Women's Society of Christian Service.
Survivors are sons, Edward, Le Mars, and John of Brandon, S. D. four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; six step-children, Mrs. Rose Mandelkow, Long Beach; Harry of Long Beach; Louise Mordorff, Medford, Ore.; Martha Albert and Fred Pech, both of Le Mars; Henry Pech, Merrill; one sister, Dora, and a brother, Ernst in Germany.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1919, three step-children, a sister and a brother.
