John Umiker, a resident of Le Mars for the past thirty years died at a hospital in Cherokee on Saturday. Mr. Umiker has been in poor health for some time and a week or two ago was taken to Cherokee for treatment.

Mr. Uniker was a native of Switzerland, Europe where he was born on may 31, 1843. He came to Le Mars in 1889, and was engaged in various kinds of occupation and gardening.

He is survived by two daughters and a son who are Mr. L. H. Robins of Castle Rock, Wash, Mrs. Henry Matgen of Le Mars, and John Umiker of Ravina, S. D. The funeral was held from the Beeley Undertaking rooms yesterday afternoon conducted Rev. S. C. Steinbrenner of St. Paul's church.
