Autopsy Shows Blood Clot In Artery Of Heart

Plymouth county coroner, Sylvester Luken and Sheriff Frank Scholer were called to Hancock township on the southwestern edge of Plymouth County at about 9:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Frederic Ross, who was born in 1888, was found lying in a pasture on the Ross farm. An autopsy was performed today.

The story gathered by the officials was: Earlier in evening Tom, Amos, and Frederic Ross, brothers, who own land in that vicinity had heard shots on their land and drove a pickup truck out into the fields to see if they could catch the unwanted hunters.

Amos Ross drove the pickup on to another place letting his brother out near the pasture. The hunters got away. However, Amos drove the truck back to the farm, thinking his brother would probably visit with close by neighbors for awhile.

However, when he did not return in about an hour, a search was started. It was then his body was discovered. The officials were called because it was not known at the time what might have caused death with hunters in the vicinity.

The Ross farms are only about two miles from the spot where the Bremmer boy's body was discovered a few days ago.

A call to the Anderson funeral home today revealed that death was caused by a coronary occlusion following an autopsy performed by a pathologist at St. Joseph's hospital. Mr. Ross had not complained of not feeling well and had been up and around as usual.

Deceased was born May 6, 1888, on the home place, where he has since resided. He was never married, and was a veteran of World War 1.

Funeral services will be held, October 5 at 2 p.m. at the Anderson funeral chapel with Rev. Lawrence Carlton officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park cemetery under the direction of the Anderson funeral home.

Survivors include brothers, Thomas in Hancock Township; Amos who lived on the same farm with his brother; Raymond of Yankton, South Dakota; a sister, Mrs. Florence Banks of Westfield.
