Note: He is buried in Riverside Cemetery and buried as J. F. Kennedy with no birth year and death year listed. His wife's maiden name was Alward.

J. F. Kennedy, of Akron, Died Very Suddenly Thursday Night

Friends in Le Mars received word on Friday of the death of J. F. Kennedy, a civil war veteran and pioneer merchant, of Akron. He dropped dead on Thursday evening. Mr. Kennedy had attended Memorial Day services the day previous and gave an address on the occasion. He was about 80 years of age and had just returned from a winter's stay in California and was preparing to start to Massachusetts to visit a daughter.

He is survived by two sons Eugene and Walter Kennedy, who live in Oregon and two daughters, Mr. Fred Burnette, of Akron and Mrs. A. E. Peters, who live in Massachusetts.

Eugene Kennedy was formerly deputy recorder and lived in Le Mars and A. E. Peters was deputy sheriff for a short while when the late P. E. Arendt was sheriff.
