COLLINS, MYRNA

Collins, Myrna Myrna Marian Collins passed July 9, 2015. She was born April 30, 1918 to John and Emma Eilers in Craig, Iowa. She was baptized in infancy at St. John's Lutheran Church, Craig, Iowa, and confirmed her faith in the same church in 1932. In 1939, she and her parents moved to LeMars, Iowa, where she attended Westmar College and from there obtained a job as a bookkeeper at Wells Dairy, LeMars. On December 13, 1944, she married Milton "Bud" Foley of LeMars who was serving in the navy. Five months after their marriage, Bud was killed in action aboard the Aircraft Carrier, Bunker Hill. On November 9, 1949, she was married to Howard Collins. Into this union six children were born. All attended Grace Lutheran Parish School in Anaheim. Her husband preceded her in death on October 14, 1970. She is survived by four daughters, Kay Runnels, Connie Hutcheson, Joan Barrette and Virginia Taylor; and two sons, John Collins and Craig Collins; and 19 grandchildren and 15 great- grandchildren. Interment at Fairhaven Mortuary, preceding the service at Waverly Chapel on Tuesday, July 14, 2015.
