DEATH COMES TO MRS. C. BURNIGHT

Rites For Former Akron Resident Held On Nov. 25

Mrs. Charles A. (Catherine) Burnight, 69, of Sioux City, a former Akron resident, passed away in a city hospital Friday, November 22, of a heart attack.

Catherine R. Gibbons was born May 25, 1894, at Alcester, S. D., A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Gibbons. She was baptized in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hawarden. On October 15, 1912, she married Charles Burnight in Akron where the couple resided many years. After their daughter's husband died about 20 years ago, they went to Sioux City to make their home with their daughter, Mrs. Madelaine Vanderham.

Survivors include the widower; one daughter, Mrs. Vanderham; a son, Ted Burnight of Hawarden; 5 grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday morning, Nov. 25, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Sioux City, Very Rev. Msgr. Lilly officiating. Pallbearers were Patrick Burnight, James, and Michael Redmond, Everald Paskert, Robert Mullin and Lowell Stinton. Burial was in Akron Catholic Cemetery.

Among thoses attending the funeral were Larry Burnight, who is a seminarian at Colfax, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Bob Mullin of Middle, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Ted Burnight and Mrs. Nellie Burnight of Hawarden. Unable to attend was Charles Burnight, of Flint, Mich.
