OBITUARY

Brief mention was made in these columns last week of the death of Mrs. Patrick Neary, at her home in this city on Tuesday, March 2, 1920, as the result of a paralytic stroke. she had previously suffered a stroke, about a year before.

Bridget Neary was born in County Gallway, Ireland, in 1848, and came to New York when a young lady. She was united in marriage with Patrick Neary in 1875 and in 1878 they came west and located on a homestead in Union county, S. D. They afterward resided in Parkiston and Elk Point, S. D., but for the past fifteen years their home has been at Akron.

Seven children blessed their union. The oldest, William, died in infancy, and a daughter, Mrs. Anna Ross, died in AKron in 1919.

Surviving are Martin Neary, of Spokand, Wash.; Mrs. Will Ross, of Akron; John Neary, of Elk Point, and Joseph Neary, of Akron.

Those with the bereaved husband have the sympathy of many friends in the loss of an especially kind and devoted wife and mother. She was a devout member of the Catholic church, a true and helpful friend and neighbor, and her long life was filled with usebulness and good deeds.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. D. K. Hurley in the Chruc of St. Patrick last Friday forenoon, Interment was in the Catholic cemetery here.

All the children were present at the funeral expept Martink, who arrived from Spokand a day late.
