David Christensen, a resident of Union county, S. D., for thirty years died at his home six miles west of this city yesterday morning. He was stricken with hemorrhage of the brain Tuesday afternoon, being alone at the time, and was found prostrate on the floor by a member of the family at about 5 o'clock.

Medical aid was summoned, but nothing could be done for him, and he passed away at 2 o'clock Wednesday morning at the age of 64 years, 10 months, and 6 days.

The sorrowing relatives have the sympathy of all who know them.

After brief services at the home tomorrow (Friday) at 1 p.m. the funeral will be held at 2:30 o'clock in the Akron M. E. church.

OBITUARY

David Christenson, died at his home six miles west of Akron, in Union county, S. D., Wednesday morning, April 30, 1913, following a brief illness of hemorrhage of the brain.

Deceased was born in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, June 24, 1848, and died April 30, 1913, at the age of 64 years, 10 months, and 6 days. He came to the United States when 21 years of age and irst located at Carroll, Iowa, but a short time afterward located at Wall Lake, Iowa, where he married Annie Hein on September 29, 1877. She preceded him in death eight years ago, April 7, 1905. They came to Union county, S. D., thirty years ago last December and resided in that locality the remainder of their lives.

Their union was blessed with eleven children, eight of whom survives, as follows: Henry, Mrs. Geo. Heyl, Frank, John, Julius and George, of this locality; Mrs. Wyatt Heyl and Louis, of Le Mars.

Mr. Christensen was an industrious farmer, a kind father and an obliging neighbor, holding the respect of all who knew him.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. R. L. Stuart in the Akron M. E. church last Friday afternoon, a large number of friends and neighbors attending as a last mark of respect. Interment was made beside his wife in Riverside Cemetery.

Relatives coming from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Wyatt Heyl and Louis Christensen, of Le Mars.
