MRS. DENA FISCHER, LONGTIME BRUNSVILLE RESIDENT, DEAD AT 89

Funeral services for Mrs. Dena Fischer, 89, longtime Brunsville resident, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at St. Peter Lutheran church, Brunsville. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran cemetery, Grant township, under direction of the Mauer funeral. Rev. Clarence Nagel will officiate. A prayer service will be held Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Fischer died unexpectedly Sunday at her home in Burnsville. She had not been ill.

Dena Siebens was born March 22, 1877, in Reip, Germany. She came to America as a child to Minonk, Ill., later moving to Plymouth county. In recent years she has lived with children in California in the winter, returning to her Brunsville home for the summer months.

Her marriage to Ben Fischer took place in 1897 in Preston township near Akron. Her parents were the late Eillt and Frances (Satthoff or Saathoff) Siebens.

Survivors are five daughters, Mrs. James (Minnie) Schamahorn of Le Mars, Mrs. Herman (Anna) Weyen of Craig, Mrs. Euben (Tillie) Bartlett of California, Mrs. Max (Henna) Utesch of Brunsville and Mrs. Robert (Lucy) Wilson of San Bernadino; three sons, Ben Fischer of Chino, Calif, Harm Fischer of San Bernadino and William Fischer, Laguna Beach, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Johnson and Mrs. Minnie Borchers, both of Le Mars.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben, who died in May, 1929; two daughters, Tillie, 1906, and Mary, 1948; three brothers and two sisters.

She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran church, Brunsville.
