Faye B. Hathaway

Faye B. Hathaway, 101, former Sioux City resident, died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 1994, at a nursing home in Spirit Lake, Iowa, following a short illness.

Services were held Saturday, Sept. 10, 1994, at the Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel with the Rev. Alex Washington officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Hathaway, the former Faye Mulheron, was born Sept. 19, 1892, in Charter Oak, Iowa. She moved to Westfield, Iowa, in 1901 and attended school there. She moved to Sioux City at age 18 and was a sales clerk for J.C. Penney Co. for a short time. She married Ralph Hathaway, April 20, 1917, in Omaha. The couple farmed in Plymouth County for three years. In 1925, they moved to Chicago where they lived for one year prior to returning to Sioux City. He died Aug. 18, 1955, in Sioux City. She had been a resident of Spirit Lake for the last four years. Mrs. Hathaway was a member of Whitefield United Methodist Church for more than 50 years.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Fern Dreeszen of Akron, Iowa; many nieces and nephews and great and great-great-nieces and nepews.

She was preceded in death by six sisters and three brothers.
