Berneice C. Bremer

Berneice C. Bremer, 66, of Akron, died June 2, 1998 a her residence following a long illness.

Funeral Services were held Une 5, 1998 at 10 a.m. at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Akron with Pastor Marion Sind officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Merrill, Iowa, immediately following the funeral service.

Pallbearers were Shawn Myers, Daryl Myers, Jay Myers, Josh Myers, Jamie Mattas, and Rob Roush.

Mrs. Bremer was born August 8, 1931, in Tyler, Minnesota, the daughter of Henry and Ellen (Taylor) Funk. She married Arnold Bremer Dec. 28, 1952, in Le Mars, Iowaat St. John's Evangelical Reformed Church. She was a certified nurse's aid and had worked in various nursing homes in Sioux City and Le Mars, Akron hospital, and private home health care for many years. Berneice enjoyed spending time wih her family, raveling with her husband, crafts, needlework, and sewing. She was a member of Wesley Unied Methodist Church in Akron.

Survivors include her husband, Arnold of Akron; two daughters and their husbands, Cheryl D. and Alan Vetter of Akron, and Elaine E. and Hal Schuchard of Norwalk, Iowa; one son and his wife, Douglas A. and Lorenza Bremer of Las Vegas, Nevada; one granddaugher, Megan Schuchard of Norwalk, Iowa; one step-grandson, John Lucas of Phoenix, Arizona; hree step-great grandchildren, Austin, Brittney, and Kristina Lucas, all of Phoenix, Arizona; one sister, Louise Mattas of Sioux City, Iowa; one brother, Floyd Funk of Grover Beach California; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one broher, Elmer and three sisers, Kahryn, Emma, and Alice.
