William Rounds Dies at Age 87

Funeral services for William Elmer Rounds, 87, of Hartley, Iowa, uncle of Glen Rounds of Hawarden and former long time resident of Chatsworth, were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist church in Akron. Rev. Chester Guinn officiating with burial at Akron.

Pallbearers included Albert Mohlman, George Mohlman, Dick Renken, Charles Hendricks, H. D. Lyle and Russell Westadt.

Mr. Rounds, son of William and Ella Kennedy Rounds, was born near Mapleton, Iowa, December 31, 1872. He lived in Onawa many years where he married Mary Edith Heller March 8, 1899.

For several years they resided at Le Mars and Chatsworth, moving in 1954 to Hartley where he died Friday. He was engaged in farming until his retirement in 1936.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Lloyd; a daughter, Mrs. Bernadine Jones, and another son Marvin.

Survivors include the widow; one daughter, Lucille, Mrs. Henry Burnight of Chatsworth; four sons Will and Floyd of Los Angeles, and Howard and Raymond of Hartley; a brother, Jess of Inglewood, Calif.; ten grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
