Early Resident Of Sioux Valley Taken By Death

P. C. Bredall, a pioneer of Union County, South Dakota, across the Sioux River at aKron, and a brother of J. C. Bredahl, of aKron, died recently at Solvang, California. The Santa Ynez Valley News saws in regard to his passing:

Peter Christian Bredall, one of the pioneers of the Danis-American colony in this valley, passed away Sunday morning at the home of his son here, after all illness of about a year.

Mr. Bredall was born in Kirkeby, Hoptrup, North Scheswig, Denmark, December 17, 1860, and at the time of his death was nearly 74 years of age. he came to this courtry with his parents, three sisters and three brothers in 1877, arriving on April 22 and settling on a farm in Union country, South Dakota. There the family worked enduring many hardships, severe winters and grasshopper plagues. They built a wonderful home on this large farm of 720 acres. As the children became of age they were married and established homes on farms of their own.

Mr. Bredall was married to Miss Elsie Jensen on may 1, 1889, and built a home on part of his father's farm. Their marriage was blessed with one son, Anker, of this place. In December, 1911, the deceased came with his wife and son to Solvang and became a member of the Danish-American colony which was organized that year.

His wife died September 1, 1918, and he is survived by his only son.

Other survivors are three grandchildren, Sylvia, Rosalie, and Edwin
Anker Bredal, and one brother, J. C. Bredall, of Akron, Iowa.

His parents, three sisters, and two brothers preceded him in death.

A nephew, Alfred Jensen, of Buelton, is also among the survivors.
