John William Woll

John William Woll, 72, longtime Merrill resident, died Sunday after a lingering illness.

He was born Dec. 1, 1895, at Merrill. His lifetime occupation was farming and he lived in or near Merrill his entire life. His parents were the late Frank and Louisa Goedert Woll.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic church, Ellendale. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Rev. Edward Mason officiating. The Luken-Johnson funeral home is in charge of arrangements. Oelson-Halweg Post, American Legion, will conduct military rites at the grave side. Mr. Woll was a veteran of World War 1, where he served with the 88th Division Field artillery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday. The parish rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Survivors arc two sisters, Mrs. J. Henry (Cecelia) Lucken, Le Mars, and Mrs. Frances Burke, Jefferson,S. D.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters and a brother.

Mr. Woll was a member of St. Joseph parish, Ellendale.
